Environmental and MSHA Safety Manager

Responsibilities & Expectations:   Environmental Manage the environmental efforts for the Roanoke Cement facility in compliance activities by assigning responsibilities and ensuring task completion. Interface as the company advocate for environmental issues with regulatory agencies. Investigate and resolve compliance problems, questions, or complaints received from within the company, customers, government regulatory agencies and/or the public Audit environmental monitoring, reporting, and record retention Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures Train company employees on relevant environmental issues and regulations, including related company policies. Maintain a high level of knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and land use laws and regulations. Review and analyze current and proposed permits, laws, and regulations, effectively communicate impacts to management and work collaboratively with operations to provide a plan of action. Effectively manage the training and development of skills, knowledge and abilities within the department Develop and implement environmental management plans for respective areas. Assist management in implementing environmental improvement programs to promote increased environmental performance.     MSHA Health and Safety Lead the Safety Program, compliance with safety standards and lead and/or participate in site safety meetings. Development, implementation and monitoring of, but not limited to, the following training: new miner, newly hired experienced miner, task, annual refresher and hazard communication Development, implementation and monitoring of site inspections and corrective action programs. Must coordinate team efforts to solve problems and implement required actions. Must maintain appropriate administrative documentation for these programs Provide direction and leadership to the company Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team and serve as liaison to facilitate effective communication. Manage appropriate statistical information regarding safety for the facility and for appropriate governmental agencies (MSHA, DMME). Write policies that achieve governing agency compliance and are applicable to the operation. Monitor facility substance abuse testing programs for both salaried and hourly personnel. Maintain appropriate records and provide reports as required. Develop and maintain programs to maintain hygiene, noise, ventilation, etc. and recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes or materials. Monitor compliance with Workers' Compensation Act and Regulations as well as ensure proper and timely reporting of injuries and follow all claims to completion. Keep abreast of changes to all applicable health and safety laws and regulations and counsel management on the direction of future health and safety legislation. Manage the claims management program including the modified work program. Required Skills Qualifications: B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety and Health or closely related fields is required. 5-7 years in combination of experience with MSHA Safety and Environmental positions in heavy industrial environment or related experience. Experience and demonstrated ability managing environmental and safety programs. DMME experience and experience managing complex permits highly preferred.   Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Self-starter with high energy and proven record of instituting continuous improvement. Excellent leadership and management skills; demonstrated ability to develop others. Ability to independently learn and understand technical, regulatory, and external issues regarding the environmental and MSHA safety programs at the plant. Ability to positively interact with regulatory agencies to ensure understanding of requirements and obtain achievable compliance requirements for both departments. Ability to independently audit and inspect industrial operations, identifying compliant or non-compliant safety and environmental issues, and effectively communicate those findings to leadership team and lead resolution efforts. Ability to independently develop, lead, and implement effective compliance strategies and management systems. Ability to communicate with internal and external parties in a collaborative, positive manner, representing the Company's interests. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
